If you feel the need for speed the next time you’re ordering a pizza, you may want to order your pie from Papa John’s.

The pizza chain is currently testing new priority pricing that will let you bump your pizza order to the front of the line, according to an Associated Press report.

Making pizza a ‘PapaPriority’

A $2.99 ‘PapaPriority’ expedited fee is currently being tested in select locations around the country.

However, note this well: Paying the $3 fee does not guarantee you a set delivery time. The priority fee only governs the making of your pie in the store, not the delivery of it on the road.

‘PapaPriority moves your order to the front of the line so that it is made faster and therefore, ready for delivery sooner,’ according to the new program’s terms and conditions.

‘These changes only involve in-store processes and do not affect the on-the-road delivery function or time. Papa John’s delivery drivers are always expected to make deliveries in a safe manner after leaving the restaurant.’

What would really be nice is if you could get a discount if you’re willing to wait longer to get your pizza…But alas, there are no plans in the works for that!

What’s Clark’s take on this issue?

‘What I’d like to see is the ability to get a discount for picking up my pizza and a few others to deliver to other customers on my way home,’ the consumer champ says, only half-jokingly.

That’s the business model that has worked so well for on-demand delivery app Roadie.

That’s Pi Day — as in the Greek letter representing the number 3.14 — and pizza restaurants are known for offering deals on that day.

Last year, Papa John’s offered 25% off your order on March 14 with code 25OFF. No word yet on what offers are in the works for this Pi Day.
