New stats from Texas A&M Transportation Institute and Inrix, a leading-provider of traffic information, list the worst cities for traffic and the amount of hours residents spend on the road battling the gridlock. The list is tallied based on morning and evening rush hour numbers.

Here’s a look at the dirty dozen of traffic

  1. Washington D.C. – 82 hours
  2. Los Angeles – 80 hours
  3. San Francisco – 78 hours
  4. New York – 74 hours
  5. Boston – 64 hours
  6. Seattle – 63 hours
  7. Chicago – 61 hours
  8. Houston – 61 hours
  9. Dallas-Forth Worth – 53 hours
  10. Atlanta – 52 hours
  11. Detroit – 52 hours
  12. Miami – 52 hours
