Costco offers cheapest gas in America

The average price of gas at Costco was more than 19.8 cents a gallon lower on average than its competitors. In addition, Costco was #1 in 12 different states!

‘Each day, millions of drivers utilize GasBuddy for real-time information on where is the cheapest place to fuel up,’ said Jason Toews, co-founder of GasBuddy. ‘We are happy to once again honor the retailers across the nation that provide low prices based on the data we have collected by GasBuddy price spotters.’

The GasBuddy Low Price winners were selected by analyzing 657 million price submissions and comparing each brand’s price by zip code to the price of competitors in the area. Then each brand was rated by the average discount versus the average price of gas nearby.

Costco wins four years in a row

Not only did Costco win this year, but this was its fourth year in a row winning the best value for gas overall in the U.S.

Plus, Costco had the lowest prices in these states: Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kansas, Texas, Michigan, New Jersey, Ohio, Texas, Utah, Virginia and Washington.

Runners up for each store category included Arco, Quik Stop, Rotten Robbie and Food 4 Less.

Costco may not always hold this spot, but if you’re a Costco shopper, it’s good to know as a general rule of thumb (for now), gas at Costco is pretty much as cheap as it gets!
