TRANSCRIPT: Google has gotten a lot of heat for not doing enough to protect you from the apps you might use on your phone. So Google has a new procedure where any app that goes on an android has to go through a special approvals process that checks to make sure it’s not going to put any viruses or bugs or any nastiness on your cell phone like spyware. Google also has a new thing if you use their browser called Chrome to surf on the web. You go to a web address and you think it’s safe, well if Google detects there’s any nastiness in that web address that you go to, they are going to put up a special warning for you saying, stay away, danger here. That’s especially true with what’s known as fat finger syndrome. You know what that is? You type in web address, you mistype one character and you think you’ve gone to the right website, but actually it’s one that’s loaded with all kinds of spyware and viruses and all that. Now using Chrome will protect you from that. I’m Clark Howard.
