After a massive 52-brand dehumidifier recall made news in November, a second major manufacturer of dehumidifiers wants to reiterate a warning to consumers that 2.5 million of its recalled models could still be in homes.
The units pose a risk of overheating, smoking and catching fire.

Don’t forget about this older recall
Gree first announced in late 2013 its recall of dehumidifiers made for popular brands like Frigidaire, Soleus Air, Kenmore and others. Then in early 2014, the recall was expanded.
Now, after 450 fires and $19 million in property damage, the company is reissuing its original recall via the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
The move comes after last month’s recall of some 3.4 million dehumidifiers by competitor GD Midea Air Conditioning Equipment Ltd. of China’s.

The Gree recall includes 20, 25, 30, 40, 45, 50, 65 and 70-pint dehumidifiers with brand names Danby, De’Longhi, Fedders, Fellini, Frigidaire, GE, Gree, Kenmore, Norpole, Premiere, Seabreeze, SoleusAir and SuperClima.
