A recall notice provided by the FDA states that ConAgra Foods is recalling Watts Brothers Farms Organic Mixed Vegetables, Organic Super Sweet Corn (Yellow/Gold) and Organic Peas and Trader Joe’s Organic Super Sweet Corn due to the possibility of Listeria monocytogenes contamination. These products are being recalled because they contain vegetables that are a part of the recent CRF Frozen Foods recall

These are the products affected:

  • Watts Brothers Farms Organic Mixed Vegetables, UPC 681241053484
  • Watts Brothers Farms Organic Peas, UPC 681241054023
  • Trader Joe’s Organic Super Sweet Cut Corn, UPC 0029 9633

Though no illnesses have been reported as a result of consuming these products as of yet, Listeria monocytogenes is an organism that can cause serious and potentially life-threatening infections in children, the elderly and those with weakened immune systems. Symptoms include high fever, sever headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea. Listeria can also cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.

Customers who have purchased these products are advised to avoid consuming them and to bring them back to the store for a refund or discard them.
