The most reliable brand in America is a discount brand, according to data in Consumer Reports that looked at more than 1 million vehicles.
The No. 1 brand for reliability is Toyota’s Scion. Toyota‘s own nameplate is No. 2. In third place, we have Toyota’s luxury division, Lexus.
Isn’t it interesting that Scion is one of cheapest cars sold, yet it’s the most reliable? High price does not equal quality in the world of car buying; you don’t always get what you pay for when it comes to cars.
Rounding out the Top 10, you have Mazda, Subuaru, Honda, Acura, Audi, Infiniti, and Kia.
My problem is there’s not one American made on that list. They’re all foreign brands. Of course, most of the vehicles those foreign automaker are selling are made here in America, so this isn’t a dis on U.S. workers. But the foreign brands continue to have the highest quality, according to this tally.
Who’s stinking it up on the other end of the spectrum? One word: Jaguar. The second worst for reliability was Ford followed by Lincoln.
