Cheaper prices coming on iPads

If you’ve wanted an iPad, but held off because of price, I have good news for you.

The huge success of the iPad has meant a steady stream of cheaper imitation tablets in the marketplace. Samsung has a range of 7-inch tablets that are available at $179. That kind of pricing has put pressure on Apple.

Best Buy ran a special last week on the third generation iPad for just north of $300. That’s down from $500 just a year ago. Of course, Best Buy was met with enormous demand. You can’t find this deal online anymore, but you might be able to find a few stray iPads floating around at their stores at this price.

Meanwhile, both Walmart and MicroCenter are running specials on the iPad Mini for $299 for a limited time.

Apple may have a new version of the iPad coming soon, so you’ll see another wave of competing price-sensitive tablets in the marketplace. So during this summer, you can have your cake and eat it too. If you would rather have an iPad, you might find yourself able to make that happen.
