When you’re pursuing education, Clark advises you to follow what you love and then figure out how to make money from it. In addition, he doesn’t think you should feel pressured by family to pursue a specific course of study because that’s what they did.

However, most other people will likely tell you to study in a field that pays well!

Having said that, Yahoo Hot Jobs has compiled a list of the worst-paying college degrees. The methodology used to compile this list involved measuring both entry-level pay and mid-career salaries for each of the fields.

You can consider this counterpoint to another recent tally of the best jobs in America!

So without further ado, here are the lowest-paying college degrees, in reverse order:

10. Drama
9. Fine Arts
8. Hospitality and Tourism
7. Education
6. Horticulture
5. Spanish
4. Music
3. Theology
2. Elementary Education
1. Social work

With all of these field, it’s important to note that people do them out of love and not because they want to get rich. Remember, being rich comes in all different forms and flavors; it’s not just about the money.

In fact, Clark would argue that somebody who does one of these professions and loves to go to work everyday is richer than somebody who hates their job and just goes everyday to collect a hefty paycheck.

Of course, he knows other people won’t see it this way!
